In chapter 1 of this space opera Randolph Reed recalls his university experiences, friends, student spirit, studies. His resolute temperament and past experiences will be useful to solve two diplomatic incidents with catastrophic consequences: first for the university planet Rossougo Pavex and, years later, for the planet Kornell, inhabited by mysterious jellies.
